Brown: Obama Economy is Making You Poor

By Floyd and Mary Beth Brown

While Barack Obama spends his time running victory laps around the country over the killing of Osama Bin Laden, the American economy is careening toward a dangerous cliff. Royal Weddings, Obama’s multiple birth certificates, and absurd arguments about the NFL lockout dominate the news while daily Americans get poorer.

Obamanomics is a disaster. A greater disaster hasn’t been visited on the United States in our economic history because we are taking no substantial steps toward recovery. The real news, which should be screaming from every television and newspaper isn’t pro Obama, therefore, it is ignored.

Here are the stories on which we should be focusing. The US dollar has slumped to a record low against major currencies. Since we have devastated our manufacturing base over the last two decades, this will result in Americans paying substantially more for goods on the store shelves in retailers from Walmart to Costco.

The outlook for the recovery has diminished to almost zero. If you subtract the impact of inflation, many economists believe we are actually still in a recession. When I talk to my friends and neighbors outside of Washington DC, we unanimously agree we are still in recession.

Here are some statistics which will help you understand the pain. More Americans are on food stamps today than at any other time in history. That’s right—the most in history. The number of persons on food stamps is 44.2 million according a recent report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Those not on food stamps feel a different pain when they buy groceries. We see unbelievably high prices at the grocery store. The cost of living in the U.S. rose at its fastest pace since December 2009 in the 12 months ended in March. Wheat, meat, vegetables and other grains are all surging in price.

But if you don’t have a job, it is hard to shop for groceries.

Bloomberg reported this week, “Applications for jobless benefits jumped by 43,000 to 474,000 in the week ended April 30, the most since August, Labor Department figures showed today.” This is a serious darkening in the employment clouds just as the recovery was supposed to be broadening.

The unprecedented easy money policies from the Federal Reserve haven’t helped the real economy. Sure, they did pump enough billions of dollars into Wall Street Banks and Government Agencies to make sure the leather loafer wearing crowds in New York City and Washington DC are still swimming in cash. But for the majority of Americans, they have felt only the pain of higher food and energy prices from the misallocation of dollars.

This week, as we fueled a rental car near the San Diego airport, we paid fifteen dollars for three gallons of gasoline. At these prices, Americans are spending as much as $100 a week just to fuel the car to commute to work. Why hasn’t the president cleared the decks to deal with this energy crisis? It is a crisis when it costs as much to commute to work as you make in take home pay. Many Americans are already at this tipping point. Obama mutters on about windmills and electric cars. We need off shore drilling and increased production to ease this pain.

At least open the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to bring down prices in the short term.

While the nation shudders under unmanageable regulatory and monetary burdens, Obama is oblivious. Obama is flying from city to city collecting cash for his re-election drive. And don’t let us forget he is spending over a hundred thousand dollars to a teleprompter coach.

And we thought standing and delivering a prepared text in front of a teleprompter was a skill he had already mastered. How about a coach on how to manage the American economy? Obama’s priorities are obvious, and they aren’t on helping everyday Americans, but his buddies and himself.

The Browns have hit it right on the head of the nail. Although Obama should be looking at the economy and taking serious steps to correct it, he is essentially doing nothing. Yes we had an increase in jobs last month but unemployment rose. We have over taxed and over regulated our corporations until they move out of the country. We’re losing jobs faster than we create them. The only thing left will be service jobs that usually pay poorly. But why has the administration not seen fit to work on the problem rather than give it lip service. Part of the plan. Stip the wealth form the middle class, make them dependant on government programs, strengthening your powerbase. Same reason they want to make the illigal aliens legal, for votes.
I feel the problem starts with the federal reserve bank. They control our money supply. I’ve always thought it funny that congress, who wants to control everything, abrogated its constitional responsibility in 1913 with the federal reserve act and gave the responsibility of controlling the money supply to a private concern. About the 8th paragraph down the mention is made of the easy money policies of the FED and what it did, it kept those in banking and government in cash, and where are they getting the cash, from the middle class. The level of forclosure and bankruptcies are at an all time high, businesses are failing, and a lot of thes assets that are being bled away are from the middle class. The middle class is being milked, milked of the little nest egg they were allowed to build. So why is Boama doing nothing, because his friends are reaping the benifits.

Socialist Liberals will never understand until the economic house of cards comes crashing down around them and you. They have no concept of how wealth is created but can only redistribute the hard earned wealth of the American Creative class. This is what defines the enemy of Socialism. It is a dead end road with poverty and a slum at the end. The socialist idea of the economic law of supply and demand is that when the SUPPLY of their Brains and Money is low, they DEMAND the producers be punished with more Taxes to pay for THEIR poor life choices and failures. They are pathological spenders and destroyers of society’s wealth. These Progressive devils keep chanting that their Socialist Change is inevitable, and it indeed is when they are in power. It’s called the “The inevitable Socialist Progressive SHORT-changing of the American Public” that inevitably comes from their dishonest government vending machine which only dispenses their socialist candy of enablement of our worst instincts for dependency.

Obama is flying from city to city collecting cash for his re-election drive.

And guess who’s footing the bill for these $10,000/hour (or so) flights.  The fact is, Obama pays for very little of the things he consumes.  He doesn’t go to the store to buy anything or pay for gas at the pump.  How would he know what it’s costing the rest of us?  Maybe somebody tells him, but does he care (or even understand)?

We have the worst President in the history of what may soon be our disappearing country.  When our brave CIA people and Navy Seals were in the process of capturing or killing Osama Bin Laden, our so called President was on the golf course.  His place was to remain in or very close to the situation room, but he was off campus playing golf.  Who ever heard of such a thing?  A real leader would have spent nearly all of the hours leading up to and during the operation sitting in his command chair paying full attention to the operation.

Please, Father in Heaven, help us to make it to November 6, 2012.

President Obama is in campaign mode again, which is where he has been for 4 out of the last 5 years.  He does not stay in Washington and get his hands dirty working on any of the problems in this country, primarily because he has very little to add to dealing with these problems.  He has no real experience from which to use in working on the economy, the energy crisis, how to create jobs, how to deal with the budget and debt problems, etc. As I have said before, our President is a “designer” President who is basically a “talking head” for those progressives, like Valerie Jarett and others, who are really running the Obama administration.

If the people in this country have not figured this out by now, they will never figure it out, which is sad and pathetic.  His (whomever) current policies are ruining the country in so many ways, it has to be stopped in 2012 or the game may be over.

The Republicans/conservatives/independents have all kinds of cannon fodder to present to the voting public that should basically sink the Obama administration and oust him in 2012.  There is nothing…nothing that is going in the right direction for this country at the moment, and the Dems continue to do the same things, which is insanity at work.

So, the challenge is to find the right candidate, one who can take on Obama in the debates, and then just go at it.  It is the Republicans race to lose, and, it is a communications process.  Put the right arguments together, the data is there and very clear, find the right candidate (smart, articulate, and culturally attractive), and the election should be a landslide for the Republican candidate.

If not, then it is a lost cause, at this time in the history of the country, and the tsunami is coming and it will be a disaster.
