Malkin: The Wisconsin Witch Hunt Goes National

By Michelle Malkin

On May 1, left-wing vigilantes will target companies across the country that have committed a mortal sin: sending donations to GOP Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin. Rest assured, such intolerable acts of political free speech will not go unpunished by tolerant Big Labor activists. They're calling for both a national boycott of Walker's corporate donors and a coordinated sticker vandalism campaign on GOP-tainted products.

The Wisconsin Grocers Association is bracing for the anti-Walker witch hunt. Anonymous operatives have circulated sabotage stickers on the Internet and around Wisconsin that single out Angel Soft tissue paper ("Wiping your (expletive) on Wisconsin workers"), Johnsonville Sausage ("These Brats Bust Unions") and Coors ("Labor Rights Flow Away Like A Mountain Stream"). Earlier this week, a "Stick It To Walker" website boasted photos of vandalized Angel Soft tissue packages at a Super Foodtown grocery store in Brooklyn, N.Y.

This destruction of private property is illegal. Not that it matters to anti-Walker protest mobsters, who trampled Wisconsin's Capitol at an estimated $5 million in security, repair and cleaning costs to taxpayers. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, "The identity of the backers of the sticker effort is unknown, although many assume it is being orchestrated by public employee unions. This latest effort follows boycotts organized by members of the Wisconsin State Employees Union AFSCME 24."

AFSCME 24 is the same union affiliate that recently disseminated intimidation letters throughout southeast Wisconsin, demanding that local businesses support unions by putting up signs in their windows. The letter threatened not just Walker supporters, but any and all businesses that have chosen to sit on the sidelines and stay out of politics altogether: "Failure to do so will leave us no choice but (to) do a public boycott of your business. And sorry, neutral means 'no' to those who work for the largest employer in the area and are union members." Others on Big Labor's hit list: Kwik Trip, Sargento Foods Inc. and M&I Bank.

Walker, of course, has been at the forefront of government pension and budget reforms. Similar measures are being advanced by Democratic governors and Democrat-run legislatures from Massachusetts to New York to California. But union bosses have yet to sic their goons on individual and corporate donors to Democratic politicians imposing long-overdue benefit and collective bargaining limits for public employee unions.

How convenient, yes? Just as they secured a big fat waiver from the federal health care mandate and tax scheme they lobbied to impose on the rest of America, Big Labor is giving Democratic legislative water-carriers who have been forced to adopt cuts and cost controls a big fat waiver from their organized wrath and vandalism.

Now, a few hundred or thousand ruined grocery store items may not seem to matter much to the average reader, but this little property destruction campaign spotlights a nasty tactic increasingly employed by the left: campaign finance disclosure as a speech-squelching weapon.

We saw it last fall when Democratic operatives targeted the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for donating to Obamacare opposition ads.

We saw it in 2008 when a top MoveOn.org alumnus launched attacks on Republican donors with the express purpose of "hoping to create a chilling effect that will dry up contributions."

We saw it when Obama campaign committee lawyers lobbied the Justice Department to investigate and prosecute a GOP donor for funding campaign ads exposing Obama's ties to Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers.

We saw it during the Proposition 8 traditional marriage battle in California, where gay rights avengers compiled black lists, harassment lists and Google target maps of citizens who contributed to the ballot measure.

We saw it when "progressive" zealots smeared Target Corporation and Chick-fil-A for daring to associate with social conservatives.

And we're seeing it again this month as the Obama White House readies an executive order that would force federal contractors to disclose all political donations to candidates and independent groups in excess of $5,000 made not just by a corporate entity, but by all of its individual executives, directors and officers.

Former Federal Election Commission official Hans von Spakovsky obtained the sweeping draft executive order, which -- surprise, surprise -- exempts unions and predominantly left-wing federal grant recipients from the mandate. On Wednesday, GOP senators spelled out the bullying agenda in an open letter objecting to the Obama order: "Political activity would obviously be chilled if prospective contractors have to fear that their livelihood could be threatened if the causes they support are disfavored by the administration." Join the club.

When disclosure's a bludgeon, all but Obama's cronies are nails.

    argumentum ad hominem.

Liberals have nothing left.  They can’t win the war of ideas because they hypocritically preach peace but foment class and racial strife when ever possible.  Their message has been rejected so they have to resort to intimidation.

It is the American People who have nothing Left. Their Union Socialist Progressive Collective anger is just evidence of the last throes of the failed socialist end game where everyone loses because even the wealth producers have finally been picked clean. You cannot collectively bargain for rights to something that has been destroyed by your own Liberal depredations. The Goose that laid the Golden Eggs has been butchered, so the greedy socialist n’er do wells could eat one meal while the rest of us starve ad-infinitum,

I would normally say something like: “UNBELIEVABLE!” or “They’re acting like children!”
But it is neither unbelievable nor are they acting like children as most children exhibit much better behavior than these commies.(excuse my name calling,it is normally the liberals who do the name calling, resort to violence, etc. I have NEVER seen conservatives lower themselves to that level, and I’m proud of that fact!)

And now they’re Boycotting? Performing acts of Vandalism? Well, I hope the vandals got, or are getting…..caught. And the police, though union, are doing their jobs and are at least trying to find these criminals. This makes me sick! Conservatives, no matter how angry, would just not act this way!

Acting like a gentleman and NOT resorting to the tactics of the liberal, possibly cost McCain the election in 2008!

If McCain would have put the information he knew, (WE knew!) out there, the stuff the MSM wouldn’t dare touch,(even though I personally considered it their DUTY to report it-HA! Fat Chance!) even those who fell for Obama’s smooth talk and lies should have been told the truth! I’m talking about those who didn’t understand the meaning of the word “Fundamentally.”
Obama always used that phrase: “Fundamentally Changing,” in his speeches. He was talking about a completely changing United States Government and it’s policies, to socialism! Spreading the wealth around…….PLEASE!

How did people NOT understand that he was talking about socialism? Or did they? Do we actually have THAT MANY socialists in this country? It would seem to be, to me.
Maybe just a little dose of FOX News Channel, or GOPUSA would have wised them up enough to realize what Obama was REALLY about. He wanted to turn this country into a Western European style socialist nation. And he still does! Or worse!
I don’t think he’d mind being our first DICK-TATER! (did I spell that wrong?)
I wonder if anyone can explain to all these union people that what they’re doing is, in effect, taking a big step towards losing their freedom?

Is it ignorance or stupidity? I know some otherwise intelligent people who STILL support Obama, even after seeing what he’s done to this great, or once great nation over the last two years? He’s spent nearly $5 trillion, (that’s more than all presidents before him put together!) and wanting to invest, excuse me…….(I almost got caught up in Obama,s phrasology) I meant SPEND more money we don’t have, and some people are OK with this?
My wife sometimes comes home from running errands and will sometimes say to me:
“People have become so dumb anymore!” And it seems to me, that she’s right! Or is it ignorance? It’s both, in my opinion. One example is the kid at the grocery store check out line who cannot make change if his computer goes down. He must have the LCD(or LED-I don’t know?) to tell him how much change to give, making me wait till his older, and mush wiser manager comes over and makes the change for me, Thank God, with the youngster standing there, almost in amazement that his 50 year old boss could do that so quickly without the aid of a calculator. But that’s another story…..
BUT……what ever happened to “Common Sense?” No calculator needed. JEEZ!

When is enough enough of Obama’s Executive Orders that takes the rights of any business or individual that does not support him and his agenda? He will use it to destroy the livelihood of anyone that opposes him and his comrades in arms, the unions.

I think all of these scum should be put in jail. They should be also tried under hate crime laws and the they are trying to subvert the constitutional right of “Free Speech” and Freedom of Choice.
These people should not get off with a the petty crime of vandalism. There actions are directly aimed at freedom of choice. You and every company has the right support verbally and monetarily any person or cause without fear of physical retribution. People have the right to protest all they want. They do not have the right to vandalize or threaten people with bodily harm.
I also believe we need laws that hold the Union and it’s officials responsible for any harm to any person or damage to any property. They have had free reign too long. They have gotten away with destruction of privet property. They have intimidated customers and clients and prevented them from their freedom of choice of who to do buisness with.
I have first hand experience crossing a picket line. I have actually crossed three in my life. The first time I crossed while I was inside the buisness all four of my tires were sliced. Fortunately for me the owner of the buisness was a stand up guy. he reimbursed me for my loss and apologized to me for the action of the Union members.
    IMPEACH OBAMA NOW! ! ! ! ! !

I worked for a small trucking company for 10 weeks for a small trucking company during 1990 before finding a better job. During that time, the Teamsters Union sent out goons to randomly vandalize our trucks. Those thugs even attempted to run a couple of my coworkers off the road. They wanted to force a union vote on us, which we did not want. Having had enough of their thuggery, we called the Teamsters Union in for a vote, and VOTED THEM OUT! They left us alone after that.

The Community Organizer in the White House encourages these Unions thugs!  He has promised that his regime will, ”Punish their enemies,” and they have only begun…!  The American people, businesses and organizations are being “terrorized” BY THE DEMOCRATS!

What these Unions are doing IS terrorism!  The Unions in WI should be made to pay the 5 Million dollars to repair  the damage they did to the Capitol.  This should NOT fall on the taxpayers, but it should come out of each union member’s pay check until the cost to repair the damage has been paid in full!…  Unions want “collective bargaining,” instead they can pay for “collective damage!”  Legally, they should NEVER be allowed to get away with destroying property of any kind!  Some punitive damages need to be levied. Terrorizing individuals  and making them fearful in any way should be a criminal offense and prosecuted.   What these people are doing should NEVER BE TOLERATED in this country!

This Nation was founded upon the principle of INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY, not Collective Thuggery whether in the form of organized Big Unions, or Organized Progressive Democrats whose own well earned low feelings of self-worth and subsequent life failures force these individually weak sisters to band together in their socialist collectives to bully the productive righteous people whom they could NEVER compete with one on one in the real world of competition. This is the very core of what Socialism is all about.
Liberal Progressives fail to realize that in a society of Self-government, the basic human commodity required for Self-Government to succeed, is the ability to govern one’s SELF!  Failed progressive’s inability to do this is what makes them weak, and forces them into collective gangs where they can exercise some modicum of power over the successful people they despise and are jealous of.
In their approach to political discourse and exercise of their political power, they fail to understand or just plain do not care to realize, that the most basic Civil Liberty in a CIVIL society is the requirement to act civilly. Their collective behavior in Wisconsin is prima facie evidence that they suffer from what is known in political circles as the “Goldie Locks Syndrome”. They break into the house of the people, sleep where not wanted, soil the beds, then go off their rockers and in true Socialist fashion attempt to eat everyone else’s porridge without paying, leaving the productive Mamma, Pappa and Baby  to BEAR it and clean up their mess.
They fear not to cross the fine line between being politically Astute,,,,to reveal themselves to be just a bunch of Political A$$ Toots

Of course, that will be the same list I use to do my shopping.  The lying leftists don’t understand that there are people like me that will go out of their way to support these businesses that are boycotted by the union thugs.  They need to remember that Walmart has grown into the world’s largest business while being “hated” by the unions.  But of course, the union membership also shops at Walmart.  So, I doubt a boycott will have much effect at all.

Not that we needed to be reminded, but this is why they are called “Union Thugs”.  These are men and women that they, but for the grace of God and probably reluctant witnesses, would be in prison.  Some will eventually find their way there, (prison), where they will instantly be crowned “Queen for a Day … or perhaps Life”.  (I’d pay good money for a picture)  :)
There are some Union members that feel they are being slighted by the actions of other members.  Well you need to get a grip and come to your senses.  You belong to these thug unions!  Don’t complain about being lumped in with the other pathetic degenerates.
Note to those corporations that are being attacked:  I’ll double up or even triple my purchases of those products!  (Love those Johnsonville Brats!)  And I’m sure those extra rolls of Angel Soft will certainly come in handy.

The one thing that most average people do not know about big labor  is the people used to do their protests and trouble making are not union members the labor unions higher day labors off the streets and pay minimum wages. This is also their policy for picket lines when striking against a company. I know this to be a fact as used to belong to the carpentters and millwrights union.

I was about to ask Michelle for a list of products that you want boycotted but your stickers will make that unnecessary.  With your help, I will be able to quickly identify products that I want to buy…even if I don’t need them.  Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Above is definitely the way to go since there are far more non-union buyers than union buyers plus many union buyers will not honor this type of violence and domestic terrorism.   Boycott the boycotters.  Buy the boycotted goods!  We out number them!

This is reminiscence of the  20s and 30s when the unions were in  the front lines to soften the financial tyranny of the tycoons.  Now however they are in the front lines trying to defend violence  just to save the union bosses own greedy political power.  This is sort of a rerun of the Civil War and clearly the unions are on  the side of financial slavery of taxpayers they want to keep intact.  And their actions are similar to racism and they want to use the power of govt, Ex orders, to force their will on all citizens.  Let us hope this is the last gasp of a dying labor movement that has siezed financial control of numerous levels of govt!  But people don’t give up powwer easily.

Wish I lived in one of the targeted states. I would be willing to stand guard over targeted products at one place of business. Camera ready to catch the action. And cell phone in hand to call the cops if confronted. Likewise, I think we might want to get a copy of the target list and publish it so we could have a “buycott” of those products in support of these companies to counteract any loss of revenue caused by the union goons. It is time to gird up for battle and get it on with those that want to crush freedom in America.

Michelle is this simil;iar to the witchhunt the righties fools are doing to tenured professors in Wisconsin? I believe they are also trying to intimadate professors by requesting all their emails and writings so they can slam them for any political thoughts they may have. Oh right they are lefties and it is okay to take away their right to free speech. Wouldn’t support a boycott for either position and besides Coors beer, no self respecting son of the beer state would drink that swill anyway.

You are talking about the leftist professors who indoctrinate our youth with their garbage.  And I’ve personally seen how speech is only free for you lefties on campus.  I watched you shout insults at a disabled veteran who spoke on one of your campuses, and shout others off the stage because they did not hold the same beliefs.
So go whine to someone else because you are not a conservative by any stretch of the imagination.

It seems the morons are on here commenting today. The thugs are the corporate giants who want everything for nothing. Collective bargaining is a way for working Americans to negotiate better work environments, safety and yes, better pay. God forbid any American want to make more money for the jobs they do. But, here is what I do hear from most of the idiotic comments on here today. Jealousy! Pure and unadulterated jealousy! Because they have a job where they have no say in anything and if they try to say something they can be fired on the spot for no reason. They don’t have a job where they can be a part of the program and have a say about their work environment, safety and pay issues. And here is the kicker… none of these poor saps have any retirement pension to look forward to! That is so sad to see Americans being nasty against other Americans just because they belong to a union shop and have a better deal. I pity you all. I work very hard to earn my money and pay into my retirement pension. The company I work for also pays into it. Regardless of the lies floating around no public money goes into my pension fund. Only my own and the matching funds from the company I work for. It’s federal law which prohibits the use of public moneys towards that fund. If it weren’t for my union my job would be a dangerous place to be every day and night. And it wouldn’t pay enough to make the risk worth it. I knew when I applied here that I was going into a union shop with dues to pay. I accept it as a prerequisite to having a job such as mine. The kind of job where I can’t be harrassed. Where I have input and am listened to. Where I get paid good money so I can afford to do the things I want and provide appropriately for my family, drive a nice car and have a few toys, go on nice vacations and never worry that I may be unemployed next week or get fired today because some supervisor doesn’t like me. That, my friends, is the American dream and you don’t have it so you become a moron who lashes out against your own and is the cause of the unrest in this country. One day, hopefully before we cease to exist as a sovereign nation and world leader, all of you sorry low-ball types will humble yourselves and shut up and maybe even get out there and find your peice of the American dream and be who you are supposed to be: Americans!

The moron is you.  You and your ilk, and your rich thug union leaders are the worthless thugs lashing out  and causing the unrest in this country. You are truly ignorant not to realize what is going on.  Thanks to you union types making excessive demands and the Dems you vote into office creating ridiculous regulations many companies have left the US.  You drive the cost of products up to the point that many Americans can no longer afford them, but none of you care until your job is moved off shore, then you scream like a bunch of stuck hogs.    Your union teachers don’t teach and their students can’t even read.  But those worthless teachers remain on the job because of unions and our nation’s children lose out.    Have you ever dealt with government bureaucracy?  They are some of the laziest workers I have ever seen because the worthless are protected by the unions.   How many of your pension funds are in trouble because of your dishonest union leaders.  You better open your eyes and take a look at what is happening in this country.  You people have been selfish and self-centered way too long, and you support politicians without integrity who will bow to your demands.  So go back to your leftist forums where you belong.

I have the great fortune, through education and very hard work, to be a member of hated “Management.” As such, my number one concern is and always has been my employees. I spend 90 percent of all of my time and energy on dealing with my employees needs, concerns, and complaints; do whatever is necessary to facilitate their ability to do their work safely, effectively, and efficiently. Any leader or good manager knows this is what is required and acts accordingly.

However, I have caught employees, a small number, lying, stealing, and robbing the company blind. I have been physically threatened by union thugs who did not want to do what needed to be done and resented the fact that I used proper channels and chain of command to ask for their assistance on something that was in their job description.
A couple of years ago, a small group of employees led by a newcomer decided to seek a union contract. We in management tried to convince them that they were better off without the union. We offered to address any and all concerns they had, but their leaders were interested only in a union. We in management followed all the rules and laws, while the union applied threats, intimidation, and made promises they could not keep. In the end, one small shop voted in the union and all the others rejected the union contract. By the end of one year, those who had voted in the union were privately admitting that they were worse off, not better, as a result of the union, but any and every attempt by them to vote out the union was met with physical threats against them and their families and even actual violence.
You Sir, can keep your union and I sincerely hope it works well for you, but I want nothing to do with unions or union shops. They do nothing for the employees except soak up their dues and intimidate their brethren if dissension ever arises.

AmVoter I’m with you. Now to Kevin. Where do I start…. first of all We are not talking about Corporations we are talking about the government employee unions. In case you are slow, that means that taking money from the people AKA tax payers. In California where I live you it pretty easy to fight a wrongful fining and as for working conditions we have Cal OSHA to take care of that.
I come to work everyday and do my job and have no fears of being fired. I don’t need a union to keep my job. I have also been offered many job. I have also been a member of three separate unions and more than half did as little as they could get away with. so just because you are in a union does not make you a good employee. Unions do keep dead weight employed.
All money in government union employees pensions are funded with taxpayers money and nothing to do with privet sector union employees. The same union rules that protect you also protect the deadbeats loafers and lazy people from being fired. I have seen it first hand.
      IMPEACHED OBAMA NOW! ! ! !

<<The company I work for also pays into it. Regardless of the lies floating around no public money goes into my pension fund. Only my own and the matching funds from the company I work for.>>

Good for you.  Guess what?  The topic is “public unions”, not private ones.  The issue at hand it collective bargaining for public servants at taxpayer expense, and we’re not talking normal benefits, but benefits largesse that is a big red ink line in most local and state budgets that present an unsustainable expense going forward.  The response from these union leaders?  Not a more reasonable bargain that the public can afford, but “raise taxes” to pay for it.  That’s right, share the pain for everyone who isn’t union.  Wrong answer.  The public is ticked, and rightly so.

The issue is also about the unholy alliance between public unions (which should not exist in the first place) and Democrats.  Union money goes into electing their bargaining partners who are supposed to be bargaining for the taxpayer, not paying back favors.  We didnt’ get to this place over-night, and it’s not just unions that are to blame, but also politicians who promised more than could reasonably be delivered, putting the taxpayer on the hook for promises that cannot possibly be delivered long-term.

I can only imagine what my salary and benefits could be if I and my coworkers elected our boss, and had the means to keep in there or dismiss him.

Unions were created at a time before there were regulations on businesses that protected workers from bad environments.  With all the federal and state regulations out there now, that purpose has long run its course.  It’s now about money, political power, and in this case, squeezing the taxpayer for every red cent they can.  It’s and entitlement mentality at this point.

Even the hero of the progressives, FDR, said there was no place for a public sector unions.

If you want to discuss the pros and cons of private sector unions, this is probably not the appropriate topic, though it is a discussion worth having.

Ok, Well I am glad you are having a wonderful Union experience, I worked for a Union it was in the mid 1980′s when the company came to the union and asked for reductions and to make modifications to the contract in some areas so the company could stay viable, the union said no way. The company already had cut areas that it could and even reduced workforce it still explained that it needled the concessions in order to stay in business and that if the company recovered they would reinstate all collective barganing agreements. The union said no we will not budge. So the company which was over 100 years old faded away. Nice job unions. They had there place and in some areas they still are needed. But to represent Government workers I think not. Oh and as Americans and as Tax payers we should have the right to say what are fair government wages. And we should have the right to work with or without unions. And I think we have laws and enough lawers to support your American dream without having unions.

I for one will make a concerted effort to purchase any item on which I see these stickers, whether or not I want it or need it, simply to make the point to the Union thugs that they no longer have the power to bully America into anything.
I already have written letters to my State and US Representatives and Senators encouraging them to end all coerced unionization and the direct deduction of union wages from Government employee wages. If employees wish to pay their union dues from out of their own personal pocket each year, then that is their right. However, they have no right to feed union thuggery from the public trough, nor should they receive benefits that their private sector neighbors do not enjoy.

Enough IS enough. The unions are threatenibg boycotts. It is tme for companies to start their own boycott: Defy the executive order if Obama signs it.

Enough IS enough. It is time for the states to take matters into their own hands, since Congress REFUSES to do its job. Each state legislature should make a proclamation/declaration refusing to recognize Obama as POTUS AND exercise nullification of everything signed into “law” by Obama.

Notice how unions are resorting to the old mafia tactics. The mafia used to sell insurance “You pay me for insurnce and I don’t destroy your business.” Groing up, my father was in the plumbers union in Colorado Springs. If you weren’t union, you didn’t work.

Kevin stated how he has job security and can’t be fired, That is true to a point. If you are lazy and take 2 weeks to do a job that should only take a couple of days, they can’t fire you. However, Kevin says that he has a say in the unions and they listen to him. That is only true if what you are saying is what they agree with. If you don’t agree with the union or do not participate in a strike, you will be blackballed from the union, which means you no longer have a job and can never work in the union again.

I am not and would never be apart af a union. I service water wells form farm and domestic use. People struggle when they receive a bill for $2,000 for repairs to a house well, and if gas prices continue to rise then the price will have to go up. If I was under a union, the price would be double or more. Unions drive up the price on averything the control. If it wren’t for the Steel workers union and the UAW, a $25,000 car would be half or less and more people would be willing to purchase a new car.

From what I see, the unions should be considered a terrorist organisation and banned.
