Yes, and we will be a lot better as a result. I’m beginning to think this had to happen in order for us to get off the road we have been traveling on since the sixtys. The future is going to be grand and glorious. If you don’t think so check out our young people. Most of them have a better head on their shoulders than their parents and grandparents, in spite of what the schools try to do to them.

Yes, we will endure this lack-of-leadership slump once the Pied Piper-in-Chief leads the lemmings off the cliff. There should be enough freedom loving “adult” survivors left to start picking up the pieces.

A couple of positive comments and they are both correct. Nugets, we will survive and, patrickhenry, there will be enough “adult” survivors to pick up the pieces. Most of these survivors will be today’s youth.

I agree with Carmine, the young people are the future. In the course of my daily affairs I talk to many teens and young adults. When you get them past the cell phones and video games, and sit them down to a serious conversation many of them wonder what this country is coming to. There are a few air heads, of course, and you find them in every generation. But, by and large, they realize it’s up to them to keep things going, only at this stage they don’t have enough age and experience to have an impact. I tell them to hang in there, their time will come and it will be up to them to set this country back on course.

I have a friend whose daughter is in her early twentys and is in college studying geology. She is totally disillusioned by many of her so called friends and has dropped most of them because she couldn’t figure why they were so self-centered. They were only friends so long as she could drive them some place. I tell her to keep studying and working and it won’t be too long before she will begin to make an effect on the country and our society. Who knows, maybe she will be the one to come up with a method to predict earthquakes.

America will survive Obama no matter what he tries to do. The destiny of this counrty is to lead the world into a brighter future. It’s much too bad I won’t be around to see it, as this is beyond my years. I am greatful to have lived these many decades and watched America’s ups and downs. I don’t have too many years left, but I will continue watching and praying for America from the other side as our young people take over and move their country on ahead to greatness.

What the Repubs in Congress should do is recuse 40 or so members from voting (vote present) and announce to the country that they are going to let the Dems have their way since “the people have spoken” in the election. Make it clear that whatever comes that tarbaby belongs to the Dems…then when it all goes to **** it will be the Dems and the Dems only who will shoulder the responsibility. Otherwise the Repubs will be painted as obstructionist (look at the last 2 years)…quit palying the game and giving the Dems easy points to score at our expense.

i agree. The only way that the country will see the error in judgement now is to experience the full unobstructed impact of there decisions. God help the rest of us in the meantime. Seems like a heavy price to learn such an obvious lesson.

If it all does go to ****, I suspect they will still craft an argument to blame the GOP somehow. Time will tell.

The first comment I totally agree with. If it’s a cliff, lets allow the Dems to go first. It’s their idea to raise taxes and it about time to give them the rope the people throw to them.
I would start a rainy day fund, were going to get wet!

If the Repubs sit back and let the Dems take over and bring down the country, it won’t be the Dems fault. It will be the Repubs’/conservatives’ fault. Because we “could have done something, but didn’t”. They are already blind to the truth; conservatives simply voting “present” would hasten the fall, and I don’t want to be a part of that. Fight to the end. Then show that we did all we could to prevent it. Not trying to fight back/not voting is what got us Obama’s re-election in the first place. We now need to gather our forces and make a bold return in 2014. Until then, we need to be obstructionists (saviors)!

Hitler solved his debt problems by invading his neighbors and seizing their wealth, but we wouldn’t want to do that.
