Birmingham, AL -- The Republican National Committee has requested that Representative Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, speak to the delegation of National State Chairmen next week in Albuquerque, N.M. on the successes that the ALGOP has recently had in its fundraising efforts.

In 2007, the Alabama Republican Party kicked off an aggressive fundraising effort to combat the union-funded Democratic Party. The plan, Campaign 2010, is focused on raising funds to win key races in 2008 and ultimately take over control of the Alabama Legislature in 2010.

Chairman Hubbard stated, "To be recognized as one of the best in the country for our fundraising achievements really validates the efforts of Republicans throughout the state and our party staff."

"The Democrats have not had to raise funds due to their relationship with the AEA, a union organization which transfers large amounts of money every month from their PAC to the Democratic Party," Hubbard said.

Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan noted, "Chairman Hubbard was chosen to participate in this forum because of the overwhelming success that he and his staff have had raising funds in Alabama. It is this type of leadership and ingenuity that puts the Republican Party in a great position to defeat the Democrats, not only in Alabama but nationwide."
